It's tough for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if not provided the possibility.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Many contend the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm at all," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a global event as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
